Incoming Game 10 sec movie - 160x120 - game.avi -

- This is my rendition of the famous ReBoot Incoming Game Cube! This animation
was created on the beta version of Lightwave
4.0 running under Windows 32s, which I managed to get a bit of time on. The
whole graphic from modeling to the start of rendering took less than an hour,
and uses two basic procedural mapping techniques in several layers.
- The sky funnel was done by modeling the funnel fully
extended, and simply using Y scaling on it. By the time
the sky plane begins to fade in the tunnel is partly
extended, and fully extended shortly after it has fully
faded in.
- ReBoot did what TV should be doing. It was innovative people like these
who created shows meant initially for children, but that can attract the attention
of the adult audience. Shows like this, and Thunderbirds, made me want to
be what I am today. An animator and special effects man.
- [COMMENTARY]: ABC decided to stop airing Reboot. This was a blow to the
show, which is a hit with people of all ages, due to its refusal to bow down
to mediocrity. This show did some things that I think other shows are afraid
to do. For example, in the final episode of Season II, Bob made Enzo a Guardian
(v1.0) and was subsequently flung out into the World Wide Web with no way
of finding his way back to Mainframe. That basically gets rid of a very popular
character to make room for Enzo to grow as an adolescent, and eventually an
adult. What ABC has done makes it difficult for this series to be made, but
not impossible. The good news is that YTV still commissioned a Season III
which is eight of the finest hours on TV.
- That was a bit off the topic for an animation page, since this was meant
for me to discuss how these images were created. Sorry, but I rant.
That's what I do.
